How to handle poor exam results?
14 Ways to handle poor exam results?
Hello guys,
Hope you all are doing absolutely fine. Today we are going to discuss a situation which most of the students are facing. As we all know that class 10 and 12 board results are announced, which brought a kind of sweet for those who really worked hard. But also brought a kind of criticism, fright, and depression for some students. The world classified them as a failure on the basis of only 2 digit numbers. If this classification is correct then definitely Thomas Edison is also a failure for them. The people who find this classification correct are a big problem for students. So here we are with our next article, “How to handle poor exam results?”
1. Keep yourself calm
First, try to understand that this is not the only exam that you are going to take. There are a lot of exams in your life that you have to take. And you are not the only student who scored low marks. There are lots of students who scored low marks but they are happy with it.
2. Do something that you enjoy a lot so that you can make your mind off from your grades. It will help your mind to get relaxed from the tensed situations of the exams.
3. Watch 3 idiots with your friends who share low marks. Doesn’t matter you already watched or not.
4. Crack jokes of your grades. Do not be afraid to share your grades. And also don’t be jealous of others grades. After all, these are grades and you should proud of them.
5. Make yourself realize that this exam is not for you.
Imagine you are a fish, your friends are a monkey, penguin, dog, elephant and our education system is taking over the exam by saying that for a fair selection everybody has to take the same exam i.e., climbing a tree. Now, how can you climb a tree if you are fish? Only monkey cam climb because this exam relates to him, not you. If it will be of swimming then definitely you will win and the monkey will lose. It was not your kind of exam so don’t take it too seriously.
6. Find your exam
Find your exam which is meant for you and do well on that exam.
7. Stop being stuck on the result
Focus on the future exams. Explore the ways to improve. Try to find the areas where you worked less and are a cause of fewer marks. And make a promise to yourself that next time you will rock.
8. Self-motivation is the best motivation
Motivate yourself to do good in the next exams of life or whatever. Do not depend on others for motivation as the society will always criticize you on the basis of your marks.
9. Turn that criticism into motivation. Prepare yourself so that you can show to the criticisers that what you are and what you can do?
10. Consider this as your first stepping stone to success.
11. Thereis no use of shedding the tears. Wipe the tears and move ahead.
12. If your worst enemy ( who is usually the topper) has scored better marks, think of all the fun he/she missed in the pouring over the books while you enjoyed the life.
13. Ifyour best friend scored lower marks than you than it is good enough reason to feel better about the result.
14. Give yourself time to recover
Life doesn’t end with bad results. You need not be too harsh on yourself. This period of anxiety and pressure will pass soon. Understand that everyone needs time to handle disappointments. Figure out what you are disappointed with and try to work on it. If it's your own performance, give yourself another year. A year in the entire life of 70 years isn’t a big deal, is it?
You are more than a set of double digits. One day you will look back and realize that real education you got wasn’t what you learned in a classroom but out of it. We are a part of the society and we have to live in the society. However, we can choose to live differently and trust me in a very good way. I completely understand that getting low marks make challenges and future looking huge for us and the society we live in seem discouraging, but I must tell you that this phase of life is a prize in disguise despite the discomfort it causes. If you go through failures in life at an early stage, they make you stronger and ready for the future provided you confront them with the right attitude and see them as part of the journey of life and not a barrier you cant remove with all the awesome gifts you possess (these include your parents, your health, your life, your friends and many more).
Thanks a lot for your precious time.
